How do you play Craps?
Today's Live Casino Craps
The game might look complicated at first, but once you’ve got the knack, you’ll be rolling with it in no time. Unlike other casino games, your bet will usually be solved in one round, but with Craps it can take a few rolls to resolve a bet. This means the excitement keeps building as you play – not just for you, but also the other players watching the game if you’re in the Live Casino version.
In Craps, two dice will be thrown and what happens in the game depends on the value of these two dice. You’ll be offered the chance to place a bet every time the dice is rolled and there are two different types of dice rolls: Come Out rolls, which each game starts with, and Point rolls which you’ll keep playing until the bet is resolved.
Once you’ve made your first roll, there are three outcomes: a Natural, which is if you get a 7 or a 11 (a win if you placed a Pass Line Bet, a lose if you didn’t) and get to roll again, Craps, which is where you roll a 2, 3 or 12 (a lose) but you still get to roll again, or a Point, which is if you get a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. You then need to roll again and try and aim for a 7 or the same number as before – it doesn’t have to be the same dice combination, just the same number. If you placed a bet on Pass Line you will win if the point is rolled before a 7. If you placed a bet on Don’t Pass, you win if a 7 comes before the point. This resolves the bet and the game is finished.
There are also different types of bets:
- A Pass or Don’t Pass bet: The Pass Line bet means you bet that the roll will pass (win) by rolling a natural or by winning the point before seven-ing out. The Don’t Pass Line is the opposite of this.
- A Come or Don’t Come bet: These bets can only be made after the point has been determined. The Come Bet wins if a Natural is rolled out and loses if the Craps are. The Don’t Come bet is the opposite of this.
- Place to Win/ Place to Lose Bet: When you place a bet on Win or Lose, you are betting if this number will be rolled next, or not. So, for a Win, if you place a bet on Win 4 then you bet that there will be a 4 before a 7 is rolled. For a Lose, if you place a bet on Lose 4 then it means that you bet that there will be a 7 before there will be a 4.
It might take a few goes to truly understand the rules, so it might be best to start out with First Person Craps and see how you go, then move to Live Craps for all of the real-time excitement. You can play both 24 hours a day, seven days a week from anywhere as long as you have a laptop or tablet.
So, get a load of Craps and take a seat at the speakeasy-inspired casino table during the two weeks that it’s exclusive to Grosvenor. If Craps isn’t really your thing, then don’t forget that we’ve got tonnes of Table Games and immersive Live Casino titles for every player and every ability. Let’s rock ‘n’ roll.

Popular iGaming software developer Evolution just announced the world’s first live dealer craps game. And the management claims the title offers gamers all the perks of playing at a traditional casino.
Live Blackjack Online Casino Real Money
For starters, Evolution included an Easy Mode and an online interactive tutorial to help beginners cope with the new experience. While the casino also plans to launch a Random Number Generator variant of craps in the upcoming weeks.
According to Evolution Chief Product Officer Todd Haushalter, “Craps has been one of the most requested games by players and casinos for the past few years. And it was time to set things in motion. Incidentally, craps complete our portfolio as Evolution now offers every game that players would expect to find at a brick and mortar casino”.
“Developing the game and seizing the unique excitement at the craps table in an online setting was a challenge in itself. But the team has done an excellent job, and we now have a phenomenal product in our hands that craps enthusiasts will surely enjoy. Live craps will also help us expand our reach in potential markets outside Europe, as we plan to attract legions of new players from around the world”. Haushalter said.
He added, “We understand that not everyone knows how to play craps. That’s why our designers decided to add the Easy Mode and a simple interactive online tutorial explicitly explaining how the game functions. Like all first-person games from Evolution, this one includes the GO LIVE button, using which players can take the in-game route to the game’s live version”.
What’s the Initial Response Like?
Although it’s too early to say for certain what the market response will be like. The designers have left no stones unturned in their effort to offer players a life-like experience. For instance, a mechanized arm throws the dice, just like at a physical casino, to keep the odds fair. There is no room for the players, therefore, to blame the dealer in case things go south, much to the relief of the person-in-charge.
Proposed Merger with NetEnt
Apart from this groundbreaking release, Evolution is all set to acquire NetEnt for approximately $2.1 Billion, and this is the best time for a merger considering both firms are performing equally well in their respective target markets. While Evolution generated over 140 million Euros in revenue during the third quarter of 2020, NetEnt’s profits soared 58% compared to the same period last year.
In October, Evolution launched its first five live tables in Pennsylvania and Kaunsa in Lithuania where it opened a new medium-sized studio. Evolution has also been quite successful with Crazy Time and Instant Roulette and hopes to continue the streak with live craps.
On the other hand, NetEnt has dedicated 2020 to signing various deals with operators in the United States in a bid to strengthen its foothold in the country. The year saw NetEnt partnering with William Hill US, BetMGM, DraftKings, Scientific Games, and Tipico.
